Altered Cigar Box
Date: Tuesday, June 20
Time: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Cathy is back with another Stampington Challenge. This time, we are being challenged by Somerset Studio’s theme: Robin’s Egg Blue.
Description from the magazine: "Some might say robin's egg blue is the perfect color for artists and crafters. It can look vintage or modern, classic or edgy. It is absolutely gorgeous when used alone, but pairs perfectly with just about any other color. We want to see all kinds – altered books, canvases, assemblages, art jewelry, art journal pages, to name a few…."
For this challenge we will alter cigar boxes to match the theme. Our goal is for you to leave class with artwork that you can submit to Stampington. Their deadline is August 15. Just remember, if you don’t try – you will never get published!
If you are not feeling robin's egg blue … you can decorate your box with any color theme you want!! Cigar box, papers, and "bling" will be provided as part of the class fee. Why not personalize your box and bring your favorite ephemera to incorporate into your design.
Students should bring: some form of liquid glue (decoupage, matt medium, etc. ), thick gold pen (for sale in the store), paper cutter, ruler, and, scissors, and a brush for glue.
Tim Hotz legs (as shown in "travel"sample) will be available for purchase at the store.
