Batik Canvas & Card
Date: Tuesday, September 12
Time: 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Escape to the beautiful island of Bali!! In this class we will use batik fabric that I purchased in Bali to make a beautiful card and a wall hanging. After you select your fabric, we will create a matching background using a variety of multi-media techniques including Gelli prints (if you have a Gelli Plate), collage, and stencils. We will focus on creating multiple layers. Mixed media design is all about working in layers to create depth and mystery in artwork. We will then cut out the colorful floral motifs from the batik fabric and decoupage it on top of the prints you created. If you are a journaler - you can create a stunning page in your journal instead of the wall hanging. Just bring your journal along. Students should bring: Your craft sheet, Gelli plate (any size), brayer, handful of bright acrylic paints, and fabric scissors. All other supplies will be provided. Sampai jumpa di kelas = see you in class!
Note: if you do not have a gelli plate you can use stencils which I will have in the class.
All classes must be prepaid in order
to reserve your spot. Payments are cheerfully refunded
up to 48 hours prior to the class.
